One of the best ways to visit the Maremma coastline and its exclusive coves is to hire a boat/dinghy or take part in organised skippered mini-cruises or half-day boat trips. We offer a small selection of rentals and alternative solutions for venturing out to discover our beautiful sea.

A first starting point for visiting the coast could be Porto Ercole. Exclusive one-day boat tours depart from this location, but it is also possible to hire small boats or rubber dinghies individually or in groups with which you can easily visit the entire south coast of Argentario
as far as Isola Rossa. This part of the coast is predominantly rocky and offers astonishing
landscapes, sandy beaches mixed with gravel and scenery typical of unspoilt nature.

Alternatively, it is also possible to hire a small boat from Talamone, a hamlet of Orbetello, and from there sail along the coast of the Maremma Park to one of the area’s most evocative and wildest locations: Cala di Forno. A jewel of Tuscany, crystal-clear sea and dense
Mediterranean maquis make this beach one of the most sought-after in the area. But that is not the only reason for its notoriety, this cove has been borrowed several times by film directors (to name but a few: Troisi, Benigni, Verdone, Veronesi) as a scenic backdrop in various Italian films.
Usually, this cove is well sheltered from the wind and has its best exposure in the morning hours. However, attention must be paid to the weather conditions: when the mistral wind rises, the beach, with its very shallow seabed, becomes impassable due to the high waves that are generated.

Another strategic point for hire is also Puntone, a hamlet in the municipality of Scarlino and ancient industrial and commercial centre. From here, with a full tank of petrol, it will be possible to visit the most beautiful and well-known bays in the Maremma: Cala Violina, Cala Martina and Cala Civetta.
